An Evening of Gilbert & Sullivan Song

2791 24th Street
Sacramento, CA

Light Opera Theatre of Sacramento (LOTS) is proud to present a fall (semi-staged) production of some of our favorite Gilbert and Sullivan songs with a live orchestra. Selections are from all of the most well-known and loved shows, including the Mikado, HMS Pinafore, the Pirates of Penzance, and the Yeomen of the Guard. Many selections will also be taken from the lesser known operettas such as Ruddigore, Iolanthe, the Gondoliers, and Patience. Also, Sean Bianco, who is the voice of Capitol Public Radio's "Friday Night at the Opera," will narrate.

For those who have never experienced the energetic, timeless humor and political wit of Gilbert & Sulllivan's music, this is a must-see show.

All proceeds will go towards LOTS annual full-scale production (Ruddigore, in May / June of 2009) so in a sense, this event is considered a fundraiser. However, LOTS main goal is to provide musicians and singers with an opportunity to perform.
