Creating a scene on the spot that is engaging is hard. Now Imagine trying to create an entire play on the spot that is engaging, meaningful, and makes sense. That is what narrative improv is all about; to carry out a story with a successful beginning, middle, and end is a challenge, but an exciting one.
Join Kyle Gossett (Director: OKC Improv Mainstage, Ballpark Theatre Company) as he takes you through the art of spontaneous storytelling.
In this class we will focus on narrative basics, such as the Story Spine, traditional story structure, everyday conflict vs. significant conflict, character function, genre/style/presentation, and more.
This class will culminate in a Graduation show October 12th with a dress rehearsal and post-show feedback.
Enrollment shall be limited to 10 students.
Prerequisite: Level 1 & Level 2, or by permission of the instructor.
Class meets from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. each Saturday (Sept. 7th - Oct 12th).
