Uphill Both Ways Recycles
Nationally acclaimed sketch comedy team Uphill Both Ways is back with not one but TWO retrospective performances that showcase the very best of their almost seven-year comic repertoire. The UPHILL BOTH WAYS RECYCLES series of shows feature only 100% recycled comedy; only tried-and-true, hilarious UBW classics will be performed.
Voted "Best Comedy Act" in the 2007 SF Weekly Best of San Francisco Readers Poll, NYCs Uproar Magazine calls Uphill Both Ways "obscenely witty." SF Downtown Magazine says "...reminiscent of such cult troupes as The Kids in the Hall and The Upright Citizens Brigade and such classics as Jackie Gleason and Ralph Kramden as best friends in the Honeymooners TV series...an endearing, energetic, and downright ridiculous pair who emit a decidedly charismatic aura." The Bay Guardian calls them "funny guys with tremendous energy."
Uphill Both Ways shows combine wickedly clever writing with unforgettable high-energy performances. UPHILL BOTH WAYS RECYCLES: GREATEST SKITS PART I includes such UBW classics as "STD Cheerleader," "J-Church of Christ," "Elevator Music Battle," and unforgettable "Peanut Butter and Jelly" (where a sticky, six-and-a-half foot sandwich comes to life on stage)and much, much more! UPHILL BOTH WAYS RECYCLES: GREATEST SKITS PART II will include the memorable "Well-Groomed Beard: The Metrosexual Pirate," "Slug Snacks," "Your Cell Phone Sucks," and the duo's feline hero "Big Kitty" plus several other bizarre short tales.
UPHILL BOTH WAYS RECYCLES runs Fridays @ 10pm, September 19th and 26th (Part I) and October 17 and 24 (Part II) at the Dark Room Theater, 2263 Mission Street, b/t 18 & 19, SF.
UPHILL BOTH WAYS RECYCLES features the comic writing and acting talents of seasoned sketch comedy vets Colin Benoit and Dave McKew.
ABOUT UPHILL BOTH WAYS: Always hyperactive, provocative, and smart, Uphill Both Ways has performed live in over a dozen North American cities since January of 2002. They have graced numerous local Bay Area venues including, the Shelton, the Eureka, the Exit, Bannam Place, Spanganga, the Marsh, the Mock Cafe, the Off-Market Theater, the Dark Room, the Jon Sims Center, and the Hemlock Tavern. UBW has been the official selection of several international comedy festivals including NYCs Big Red Comedy Festival (2003, 2004), San Francisco Sketchfest (2004, 2007, 2008), Chicago Sketchfest (2005, 2006), D.C. Comedyfest (2006, 2007), Atlanta Improv Festival (2005), Dallas Comedy Festival (2005), L.A.s Fest of Sketch (2005) and International Sketch Comedy Championship (2006, 2007), and the Lowell Comedy Festival (2006) in Massachusetts. UBW was honored to be selected for the Best of the Fest show at Vancouvers CanWest ComedyFest (2005), performing on the same bill with Late Night with David Lettermans Eddie Brill and Kids In The Halls Scott Thompson. Their films have been seen on TVs Comedy Central and various short comedy film festivals in San Francisco, Seattle, Los Angeles, Washington D.C. and Toronto.
