Horse Horse Tiger Tiger with Free Association and Feather-Bright
Horse Horse Tiger Tiger releases their debut EP with special guests Free Association and Feather-Bright at 50 Mason Street in San Francisco. This EP follows their 3-track single, Rushmore, released in early July, and combines newly written material with longtime live favorites. The band will be giving away free copies of their record to the first 50 attendees, as well as debuting some brand new material. Tickets are $5 in advance, $7 at the door.
Horse Horse Tiger Tiger began with four friends and their shared love for the Arctic Monkeys, Radiohead, and all things Zeppelin. Featuring Brogan O'Hara on guitar/vocals, Philip Witham on guitar/vocals, Christoffer Thygesen on bass, and Evan Weiner on drums, their innovative blend of indie, alternative, and garage rock gives their music a strong sense of groove and melody, and their engaging performances provide audiences with an exciting, fresh taste of Bay Area rock 'n' roll. The band takes creative inspiration from the Chinese phrase "mama huhu"--literally, "horse horse tiger tiger," it roughly means "so-so" or "mediocre." They're still figuring out what exactly to make of that.
The psychedelic folk rock of Feather-Bright was born from the decommissioned steel mills and barbed-wire fenced Victorians of West Oakland, California- a little sprout of grass pushing up against the odds between the cracks in the sidewalk. Started by Carly Patterson, the band has found its stride in collaboration with the cello-stylings and soulful vocals of Anne Healey, the creative bass riffs of Mr. Jimmy Shaff, and our own god of thunder, Danny DeMento.
Free Association is an American band of multi-instrumentalist's from the Bay Area. Formed in 2012, the band consists of vocalist/pianist Nolan Krueger, vocalist/bassist Kani Crabb, bassist Phil Linfoot, guitarist Max Stern, and drummer David Horn.
