Farm to Fork:
A Benefit Dinner in support of Learning Gardens Institute, Mother Earth School and our programs at the charming Jeans Urban Forest Farm in SE Portland.
You're invited to celebrate our first harvest season together at Jeans Farm and help support many more to come.
Gate opens at 5pm.
Farm tours at 5:15 and 5:30
Sit-down dinner at 6:00
Menu:
Vine-ripened tomato bruschetta on wood-fired focaccia bread
Salt-rubbed farm greens with plum vinaigrette
Columbia River Chinook Salmon (brought to us by the children at Mother Earth School during their annual field trip to witness the fish return)
Wood-oven Roasted Squash with apple syrup (pressed and reduced over a wood stove by the children)
Apple Tart with a gluten free option
Dinner music provided.
This event supports the continued non-profit work of the Learning Gardens Institute and Mother Earth School. LGI hosts weekly seasonal farm visits to children from Sunnyside Environmental School. Mother Earth School runs an on-site farm-based 1st/2nd grade a weekly parent-child class and summer nature camps. Both organizations offer classes for Continuing Education Credits and host events and workshops like herbal medicine making and nature awareness.
Mother Earth School will host a silent auction in support of its farm-based Pre-k to 2nd Grade education programs between its two farm locations in Portland.
$40 per person. Local beer and wine included. THIS IS A 21+ EVENT.
RESTRICTED ACCESS: Jeans Farm does not have on-site parking. Visitors must street-park on 36th, 40th or other area side streets. Entrance gate located at 3707 SE Johnson Creek Blvd., located between 36th and 40th. Accommodations for alter-abled guests by arrangement only.
Jeans Farm is a private site and ALL VISITORS must be registered for the event or activity of interest. There are no unscheduled visits to this site available at this time. Get info about upcoming events or tour inquiries at www.learninggardensinstitute.org. Thank you!
