Party Time - Thursday, August 1
Theatre on Fire presents "Party Time" by Harold Pinter. You're invited to the most exclusive party in town, featuring wine, nosh and a veritable who's who of power brokers, movers and shakers. Don't be alarmed if you encounter a road block or two on the way. Everything is going to be fine.
Presented as part of our Home Invasion program, each performance of "Party Time" will be in a different home in and around Boston, creating a unique evening of theatre every night. Saturday, July 20 will be performed at a private home located on the Perkins School for the Blind campus in Watertown, MA.
DIRECTIONS:
Location: 103 Beechwood Avenue, Watertown, MA 02472
T Directions: Watertown is served by MBTA Bus Lines 59, 70 and 71 (to Watertown Square) on the north side of the Charles River, and 52, 57, 502, and 504 (to Watertown Yard) on the south side of the river. The closest bus stop is on the 70, which follows Arsenal Street through Watertown and stops at the intersection with Beechwood Avenue. From here, walk south on Beechwood one block to cross North Beacon street, then continue south on Beechwood. The Perkins campus will be on your right and private homes on your left. The house is on the right hand side of the street just before the street dead-ends at Charles River Road. Just past a fire hydrant, enter the campus through the gate, walk up a short flight of stairs, bear to the left and enter the house at the front door there. Alternatively, get off any of the listed buses at Watertown Square or Watertown Yard, which are about 3/4 mile due west of the house. From Watertown Yard, walk north across the Galen Street bridge over the Charles River to Watertown Square, then east along Riverside Drive (not Charles River Road) through a neighborhood and then directly onto the Perkins campus. Continue east through the campus until you reach Beechwood Avenue, then turn south (right) on Beechwood and follow the directions above.

Auburn Street, proceed all the way to Watertown Square and follow the directions from the northwest, below.
From the northwest (north side of Charles River, west of Watertown): Get to Watertown Square via Main Street (from Waltham) or Mt. Auburn Street (Belmont or Cambridge). From the south (south side of Charles River, either east of west of Watertown): From the Mass Pike (I-90), use Exit 17 to access Centre Street in Newton, and proceed north (down the hill) to the Charles River and across the bridge to Watertown Square. (Centre Street becomes Galen Street just north of Newton Corner.) From Newton or Newton Corner, get to Centre Street/Galen Street and proceed north as described. From Watertown Square, proceed east on Arsenal Street one block, and bear to the right on North Beacon Street. Continue east on North Beacon Street approximately mile; the Perkins campus will be on your right. At the intersection with Beechwood Avenue (there is a stoplight here), turn south (right). Tickets must be purchased in advance - there are no door sales. (Oddly, none of our home venues has a built-in box office).
