Trapper Huckleberry Bass (Lancaster) is ambushed by a group of Kiowa Indians who steal his furs and give him captured slave Joseph Lee (Davis) as "payment." Bass convinces Lee to help him steal back his furs but before they can act the furs are stolen again by a ruthless band of Indian killers. Bass and Lee must now track the scalphunters and, along the way, develop an unexpected friendship.
