Acclaimed for their exhilarating performances of old and new repertoire, Contrasts Quartet is a group of four extraordinary virtuosi, its name chosen to describe the contrasting timbres of their instruments as well as the variety of its repertoire. A recent CD features works by Aaron Jay Kernis and Ned Rorem. The evening concert focuses on the modern repertoire and includes Sentiments by SSU Music Department Chair, Brian S. Wilson. The 1:00 pm workshop/master class is open to the public at no charge. |
