The Five Deadly Improvisers w special guest Tim Orr!
The nationally acclaimed improv-theatre troupe, The Five Deadly Improvisers, are taking over Stagewerx Theatre in the Mission for one night only, Saturday, August 10th! If that's not enough, they'll be joined by their first ever guest performer - Tim Orr (BATS Improv, 3 For All)!
Known for their thrilling fight scenes and action set pieces, the Five Deadly Improvisers will be performing a martial arts double feature: two unique and completely made-up on-the-spot stories based on suggestions from the audience. Nothing is choreographed and nothing is planned.
The Five Deadly Improvisers have played at the SF Improv Festival, Austin Out of Bounds Comedy Festival, the Seattle Festival of Improvised Theatre, the Atlanta Black Box Comedy Festival, the BATS Summer Improv Festival, the Santa Cruz Improv Festival, and this fall they will be performing at Improvaganza (The Hawaii Festival of Improv) and making a return appearance at the Austin Out of Bounds Comedy Festival.
Tim Orr Tim has improvised since 1988 with many San Francisco-based groups, including BATS Improv, Rafe Chase's groundbreaking long form troupe Improv Theatre, the renowned True Fiction Magazine, and with the acclaimed troupe 3 For All. Tim has performed (and taught) improvisation at the American Conservatory Theatre, BATS Improv, Stanford University, and many other venues nationally (Los Angeles, Chicago, New York, Austin, Louisville, Atlanta, etc.) and internationally (Amsterdam, Beirut, Helsinki, Leuven, London, Paris, Stockholm). He has served many times as the Director of the BATS Long-Form Intensive programs.
