Description Victor Ewald spent his entire life in St. Petersburg, Russia, where he worked as a Civil Engineer and Composer. His "hobby" included performing with one of the most popular Russian string quartets of the time, leading him to become part of an extremely exclusive arts club known simply as the "Friday Evenings". Although the French composer Jean François Bellon was writing music for brass quintets almost 40 years earlier, Ewald's compositional style popularized the form due to his deft handling of the instruments. Uncover the underexposed world of music for brass quintet, beginning with one of the founding fathers.
Come For The rare opportunity to experience the regal and powerful sound of five live brass players.
