Postales - Screens in NYC and Launches on Amazon Instant
POSTALES marks the narrative feature directorial debut for 34-year-old Filipino-American filmmaker Josh Hyde.
POSTALES, which means "postcards" in Spanish, is a smart, sensitively realized human drama that breaks down language and cultural barriers through an innocent romance between a Peruvian street kid and a pre-teen U.S. tourist girl.
The film (in Spanish with English subtitles) was chosen to participate in the Independent Filmmaker Project's (IFP) 2009 Narrative Rough Cut Labs and made its World Premiere as an Official Selection at the 2010 Edinburgh International Film Festival. It has screened at dozens of other festivals, including the STARZ Denver Film Festival, London Latin American Film Festival, Shanghai International Film Festival, River Run International Film Festival, and CineManila Film Festival. The critically acclaimed soundtrack was created by Los Sospechos, a combination of members from TheBudos Band. In addiiton, Digital entertainment curator, FilmBuff, has partnered with Lofu Productions for the digital release of POSTALES which is on July 30th on Amazon Instant Video.
