BOOKSMITH BOOKSWAP: Books to Movies Edition
Summer is for blockbusters, and August's Bookswap is getting the Hollywood treatment. Bring a book you love that you think should be a movie (whether it's already been adapted or not is irrelevant), be ready to tell us all why, and we'll have a rowdy, white elephant swap.
Your $25 ticket gets you dinner, lots of drinks, swag, free books, and a closed bookstore all to yourself (and a few dozen of your new best friends.)
With SPECIAL GUEST -- HEATHER DONAHUE!
Heather Donahue is the author of Growgirl, Proprietress of Prettywell, a teacher, a barn-dweller and generally driven by her curiosity. Growgirl: The Blossoming of an Unlikely Outlaw, a memoir of her time as a medical marijuana grower, was released in paperback from Gotham/Penguin earlier this year. She is a columnist for Yahoo! Shine whose work has also appeared in such places as Los Angeles Magazine, Bust, and The Huffington Post. This year also marked the launch of her personal care business, Prettywell, which you can see on Etsy, or on Facebook. Go ahead and like it! You may remember her as the girl from the Blair Witch Project, but she was also in Taken, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and a bunch of things you've never seen. A teacher of memoir writing, she regularly leads writing retreats in the Sierra Foothills. If you'd like to partake, send an email: h@heatherdonahue.com
Tickets available in the store and at Brown Paper Tickets online.
