ARGONAUTIKA (2 local performances before we take it to the Edinburgh Fringe!)
San Domenico High School Theatre group is excited to perform at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in August of 2013! Be the first to see their 90 minute play which will surely be a hit at the 2013 American High School Theatre Festival in Edinburgh, Scotland!
About The Play

Goddesses....Heroes.....a young sorceress....a journey into the unknown.....Harpies.....Gods.....nymphs.....Cupid.....prophecies.....good....evil.....magic...an impossible quest.....eternity.....all these come together in Mary Zimmerman's marvelous ARGONAUTIKA.
Mary Zimmerman spins the tale of Jason and the Argonauts in her stunning signature style of physical theatre, magic, music, beauty, poignancy, and earthy humor. Sent on the quest for the Golden Fleece, the young Jason is befriended by the Goddess Hera, and protected by the Goddess Athena. Jason gathers together the heroes of Greece as sailors for the Argos and the adventure begins. After struggling with Gods, monsters, and the difficulty of keeping a group men on-task, Jason finally reaches the island of Colchis, where the Golden Fleece is guarded by a dragon who never sleeps. Hera and Athena know Jason will never obtain the fleece or survive - unless he is aided by the teenaged sorceress-princess, Medea, daughter of the King of Colchisperhaps Aphrodite and her son Cupid can be of help?

Two stateside performances in San Domenico's Hall of the Arts before this San Domenico High School Theatre group takes the show to the American High School Theater Festival at the Edinburgh Fringe! In Scotland, the show will be performed four times at the Church Hill Theatre Main Stage in Edinurgh:
Performance 1: Monday 5 Aug, 10AM-Noon
Performance 2: Tuesday 6 Aug, 10PM-Midnight
Performance 3: Wednesday 7 Aug, Noon-2PM
Performance 4: Thursday 8 Aug, 4PM-6PM

Its Theatre Arts Department has been selected to perform at the 2013 American High School Theatre Festival in Edinburgh, which is part of the largest arts festival in the world -- the Edinburgh Fringe.
