The songs of Harvard mathematics professor Tom Lehrer (The Vatican Rag, National Brotherhood Week, New Math, The Masochism Tango and many more) delighted audiences world-wide during the 1950s and 1960s.
Mr. Lehrer's music was also heard on NBC's cutting edge comic news show That Was The Week That Was, as well as on the Childrens Television Workshop show The Electric Company (Silent E, L-Y).
Now, this timeless revue, created in 1984 by Cats/Phantom of the Opera producer Cameron Mackintosh based on Lehrer's hilariously cynical songs, comes to North Carolina for the first time in October. The eight-person local cast will take you on a comic voyage the likes of which you have never been on before pollution, love, religion, sex, intolerance, nuclear power no subject is sacred in Mr. Lehrer's slightly off-center world!
