| Description |
This special workshop, presented during the American Center for Life Cycle Assessment annual conference, brings together experts in Life Cycle Assessment/industrial ecology with members of the By-Product Synergy NW Network. Session leaders and respondents will discuss how Life Cycle Assessment thinking and tools can inform the valuation and impact prioritization of potential materials exchanges. Learn more through the lens of this innovative project. Topics include: Industrial Ecology Models for the Puget Sound Region; How the energy/carbon price will accelerate changes in product selection, energy dependent processing, design, and waste management; Two Common Misconceptions in Life Cycle Thinking and Assessment of Options for Material Discards Management: Climate Change & Importance of Transportation Distances.
