This is the darkest and most dangerous of all Broadway's love stories penned from Tony and Grammy Award nominee Frank Wildhorn and Oscar and Grammy Award winner Leslie Bricusse. It is presented complete with all its classic songs, some of which include: "This is the Moment," "A New Life," "Someone Like You" and "Façade." It is more like a concert but creatively staged in ALA's intimate blackbox theatre, maintaining the powerful and daunting affect.
The story, as originated by Robert Louis Stevenson, is as timeless as it is irresistible. A devoted man of science, Dr. Henry Jekyll's own father is in restraints in a Victorian hospital bed suffering from the advanced stages of dementia. Dr. Jekyll passionately searches for a chemical breakthrough that can separate good from evil and perhaps cure his father's ailment.
Rebuffed by his colleagues in the medical profession, Jekyll decides to make himself the subject of his own experimental treatments, accidentally unleashing his inner demons along and the monster that the streets of London and the world would come to know as "Mr. Hyde, the murderer." No musical has ever gripped an audience like JEKYLL & HYDE.
