Tracy Grammer & Cliff Eberhardt Concert
On Saturday July 20th, the West Mountain Inn in Arlington, VT will host a double bill concert in their historic barn featuring internationally touring folk music artists Tracy Grammer and Cliff Eberhardt.

Named "One of the finest pure musicians anywhere in folkdom." by the Boston Globe, Tracy Grammer was raised in Southern California and began her musical journey on a borrowed violin at the age of nine. She gained notoriety in the folk world as half of a duo with the late, great Dave Carter. A favorite on the folk circuit, Tracy is primarily known as a sensitive, creative song interpreter, with warm vocals, a girl-next-door stage presence, and playing pristine fingerstyle guitar. Her most recent album. Little Blue Egg, a collection of archived home and studio recordings with her late partner Dave Carter, was the most-played album on folk radio during 2012. Grammer's fiddle playing has been described as music melding Appalachian traditional, classical and progressive rock. Now, with three solo albums under her belt, she continues to perform at clubs and venues world-wide. Grammer & Carter toured with famed folk singer Joan Baez who described Grammer as, "a brilliant artist and unique individual. Her voice is distinctive as is her mastery over the instruments she plays."

Red House recording artist Cliff Eberhardt knew by age seven that he was going to be a singer and songwriter. A driving force of the Greenwich Village New Folk movement and well known among his peers, Cliff's songs have been covered by the likes of Richie Havens, Buffy St. Marie, Erasure, Lucy Kaplansky and the folk superstar band "Cry, Cry, Cry" (Dar Williams, Richard Shindell, Lucy Kaplansky). In a recent Herald News article Eberhardt was described as "the man whose voice is probably most recognizable to mainstream America as the singer/jingle writer for Chevrolet's iconic song, Heartbeat of America. He isn't shy about taking on unusual projects, such as his most recent, writing the music and performing in a production of Shakespeare's Taming of the Shrew, staged at the Folger Shakespeare Theatre in Washington, D.C. in 2012. He was described as having a voice that sounded as though Tom Waits melded with Richie Havens." In April 2013, Eberhardt won the prestigious Helen Hayes award for original music and performance in the recent Taming of the Shrew production.

Of his music Eberhardt says, "Expect me to tell a lot of stories that will make you laugh. And then I'll break your heart. You will cry. I think crying and laughing are one emotion and people should do it a lot more often."

Along with selections from each of their popular folk music repertoires, Grammer will share songs from her new album, Little Blue Egg and Eberhardt will perform material from his latest album, Shrew Songs.

Music starts at 8pm. Tickets for the show are $18 in advance and $20 at the door. Doors will open at 6pm for dinner and drinks. "Dinner and a show" tickets include a three course dinner in the Inn's dining room before the performance for $48 in advance/ $50 at the door. A BBQ dinner will also be available from 6-8pm at the barn for $20.  For tickets and more information call the West Mountain Inn at 802-375-6516 or email info@westmountaininn.com.
