More About the Show and the Artists: Libertyville's Improv Playhouse is presenting a Chicago based cabaret for its audiences on August 10th at 7:30 and 9:00pm. "We all hear about the classic Broadway tales of stardom; Girl dreams of the stage, Girl gets discovered waiting tables, Girl becomes Idina Menzel. Boring; am I right?", says IP executive producer/owner David Stuart. "One of our terrific staff members, Rachel Page and our musical director, Matt Piet, along with iP Staff Christie Burgess have teamed to present, 'Don't Call Us, We'll Call You', a vocal showcase production that takes a fresh and amusing look at crushed musical theatre dreams, one song at a time."
Featuring works by Andrew Lippa, Rogers and Hammerstein, and Goldrich and Heisler, Rachel and Christie, sing about two very different girls who never quite get their names up in lights.
Rachel Page graduated magna cum laude from Carthage College with a Bachelor's Degree in Music Theatre. Miss Page is a freelance performer and music director in the Chicagoland area involved in the Fox Valley Repertory Theater, Music Institute of Chicago, Second City Musical Improv Conservatory, Beast Women Cabaret and Improv Playhouse.
Christie Burgess is a full time staff member at iP and after completing her Bachelor of Fine Arts with degrees in Acting and Family Life Education at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, Christie has been performing throughout the Midwest.
Matt Piet, is a professional Jazz pianist and graduate of the Eastman School of Music.
