"Obliterated. Getting back Film Herstory?, held by Casandra Prerost & Elisabeth Orrin
In 2014, ÉCU FILM Festival presented the workshop, Where are the Women?: Women in film and music by Cassandra and Elisabeth. Five years later a lot has happened with an increased awareness of the need for women in all aspects of filmmaking and the #MeToo movement. In 2019, after a lot of research, we find that women have always been present in this industry from its pioneering beginnings. What has happened and this is also the case in Music and the Sciences is that womens contributions have been marginalized or indeed written out of film history and it didnt become part of the canon and the Story of the Seventh Art.
