A 4-week series of 2-hour hoop dance workshops with Khan Wong.
Week One: On the Core. We will start with exercises designed to improve control on the core in both currents, starting on the waist and moving onto the shoulders. We'll explore breaks, angles, and review different methods for getting the hoop on and off the body in addition to dancing with the hoop.
Week Two: Intro to warrior style. This week we explore swinging the hoop, the applications of different grips, playing with the z-axis, tosses and using our elbows.
Week Three: Isolations and body rolls. We will play with different kinds of isolations and body roll variations.
Week Four: Integration. We start this week with a couple of free-movement exercises and then move into each student creating his/her own sequence drawing on the various techniques explored in the previous three weeks.
