Storm the Bridge - An Art Revolution
Join us for a night of revelry, mayhem, and revolution as we storm The Bridge to release creativity into the community. Inspired by events in 1870s Paris, you will play the role of liberator, marching to open up new possibilities for art and culture in Charlottesville.
Pre-event festivities will kick off at Champion Brewing, where you can enjoy the new Belmont Beer, a collaboration between Champion Brewing, the residents of Belmont, and the Bridge. At 7pm we march through the streets of the city, lead by a fife and drum, to a wall surrounding the Bridge. Along the way proclamations will be read and cheers will be made exclaiming freedom for art.
Once at the Bridge you will enter through the walls to a festival of food, music, art and fun. There will be a guillotine, a trebuchet, a photo booth, t-shirts, posters, and activities for all.
The culmination of the night will be the destruction of the wall, releasing creativity into the city.
All are welcome! Those that dress in period will be richly rewarded.
