Join us Saturday September 20th 5pm at Sherills Inn near Hickory Nut Gap Farm in Fairview for a Slow Food Picnic with an old fashioned square dance afterward. We will serve up some of the best food the region has to offer, keeping it local with meats from Hickory Nut Gap and Flying Cloud Farm, breads from West End Bakery, all kinds of veggie dishes made with Flying Cloud veggies, not to mention homemade apple crisp for dessert! Well kick it off at 5pm with drinks and hors douvres. The dancing will begin at 7:30. The minimum donation is $35 and kids under 10 can attend for no charge. We only have space for 100 people so buy your tickets soon! The proceeds will go to help Slow Food Asheville send local delegates to the international conference, Terra Madre.

Please bring your own plate and fork to enable us to cut down on waste that we produce. Also, if you have a picnic blanket bring that along too! For more information call Cathy at 255-0296.

Directions to the Big House or Sherills Inn. Exit 53A from I-40 or Exit 9 from 240. Stay on 74A/Charlotte Hwy. After 9 miles, the road narrows to a 2 lane road. Keep going for 3 miles, until you see parking signs on your right. The last mile is very windy, Parking will be in the pasture below Sherrills Inn. The parking area is the first right after the road gets curvy.
