Multi-talented musician and grammy award winning producer Daniel Ho, and 'ukulele master and international recording artist Herb Ohta, Jr., celebrate the release of their third 'Ukuleles in Paradise collaboration, "2 to Three Feet, 'Ukuleles in Paradise 3". A culmination of two incredible artists, they bring together their love of contemporary jazz, traditional Hawaiian, and the beauty of the islands in their original compositions and song arrangements. Both with accomplished solo careers, they come together with grace and style like that perfect wave that you want to ride all day. Daniel and Herb will also be giving 'ukulele workshops.
Beginning 'Ukulele Workshop: 10:15 - 11:15 am
Aimed towards beginners, Daniel and Herb will be teaching sections from their instructional book, Discovering the 'Ukulele. You will learn how to tune your 'ukulele, strum your 'ukulele and hold your 'ukulele. Learn left hand technique and right hand fingerstyle technique, while learning the basic "c scale" and "c chords" to get you on your way to strumming a few songs.
Intermediate/Advanced 'Ukulele Workshop: 11:45am -12:45 pm
Geared for the intermediate and advanced 'ukulele lovers, Daniel and Herb will teach from their instructional book, Exploring the 'Ukulele. You will learn more sophisticated techniques and strumming patterns, learn more advanced scales using 3rd's and 6th's and learn how to do improvisation.
Concert: 2:00 - 3:00 pm
