"The Sebastians" in Concert
The Sebastians explore virtuoso Italian music of the early baroque, focusing on two centers of music in the 17th century: Venice, home of masters like Dario Castello, Bernardo Storace and the titan Claudio Monteverdi; and Rome, where Lelio Colista and Alessandro Stradella set the stage for Arcangelo Corelli, one of the most influential composers of the baroque. Lauded by The New York Times as "everywhere sharp-edged and engaging," the four instrumentalists of the Sebastians will perform thrilling music for violins, cello, harpsichord, and lute, plus special appearances by singers from dell'Arte Opera Ensemble.
