Mindbenders Far-Out Films Series
Three innovative, cutting-edge first-run films premiering at Art Academy of Cincinnati during the weekend of June 28-20.
On Friday, June 28, at 7:30 p.m. is the new black-and-white silent (with musical score) Spanish movie Blancanieves, which sets the Snow White story in the bullring.
On Saturday, June 29, at 7:30 p.m. is the strange thriller Berberian Sound Studio, about a British film-sound technician who possibly is becoming disturbed while working on an Italian horror movie. It stars Toby Jones and won a British Independent Film award.
On Sunday, June 30, at 2 p.m. is Ornette: Made in America, a restored version of Shirley Clarke's long out-of-print documentary about free-jazz icon Ornette Coleman.
There will be discussions led by guest speakers after each film. Advance tickets are $8.75 with no fees.
