Resonant Bodies Festival 2013
ABOUT THE RESONANT BODIES FESTIVAL
Resonant Bodies was created to cultivate, promote, and celebrate the growing number of young, talented, and innovative new vocal music specialists in New York City. Held at ShapeShifter Lab in Brooklyn (Gowanus), festival-goers can stay for any one of the mini-concerts (approximately 45-minutes in length), the entire evening, or purchase a three-day festival pass. ShapeShifter Lab offers a 4200 square-foot space, a full-service bar, two grand pianos, and live web streaming for those who won't be in New York City for the festival.
Resonant Bodies, organized by Lucy Dhegrae and Charlotte Mundy, aims to be an international forum for singers and composers. In the near future we will expand our activities to include a call for scores, commissioning of new works, annual composer awards, and workshops, all of which will increase the RBF's profile. "resonantbodies.org" will also host a growing collection of singer and composer video interviews and develop a recording database of works written in the last 15 years.
