ROOMS: a rock romance
Broken Nose Theatre closes their inaugural season of sex, love, and relationships with the Chicago Premiere of ROOMS: A ROCK ROMANCE, Directed by BNT Artistic Director Benjamin Brownson ("My First Time"), starring rising talents Hillary Marren ("The Bachelorette") and Matt Deitchman ("Hero"; "Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson"), and featuring a live band led by the incomparable, Jeff Award-winning Music Director Austin Cook ("Putting It Together," "Some Enchanted Evening").
The year is 1977. The New Wave is sweeping the UK and America. Monica, an ambitious singer in search of fame at any cost, meets Ian, a reclusive rocker who prefers to be left alone with his guitar. Sensing a spark that may go beyond the music, the two wailing wunderkinds team up, rock out, and travel from Glasgow to London to New York in their rise to stardom, only to be confronted with the hard choices that come with trying to have it all.
Nominated for Outstanding Musical at the Outer Critics Circle Awards, the Drama Desk Awards, and the Helen Hayes Awards, and fresh on the heels of successful runs in New York, LA, and London, you don't want to miss this "knockout Chicago Premiere" and "surprise hit musical of the summer"!(Hedy Weiss, Chicago Sun-Times).
