Kids Composition Workshop (KCW)
All kids and their parents are welcome to join us for this event, though we recommend kids aged 6-12. The event will be held at Manchester's Community Center (located by the Commuter Rail station), and we will work together to create an original composition with our 2013 Pulitzer Prize Music Composition Winner, Caroline Shaw. No previous musical experience necessary, just bring your fun and imagination! FREE ADMISSION! Though this is a free event, we kindly ask that you still reserve your tickets in advance so we know how many people to expect and also as a courtesy to other patrons. Thank you!
About Caroline Shaw: This year, MSCM's Resident Composer, Caroline Shaw, had the classical music world buzzing when the Pulitzer Prize Committee announced her the 2013 Winner in Music, making her the award's youngest winner. Since then, it's been a whirlwind of media attention for Caroline from news sources such as The New York Times and NPR. What really sets Caroline apart to us is her incredible raw talent and amazing humbleness. Check out her page on our website, which includes links to her winning composition as well as works she's done in the past with MSCM: http://www.manchestersummerchambermusic.org/2013/05/caroline-shaw-wins-pulitzer-2/
