American Idol finalist David Osmond as you've never heard him before: "up close" in a very exclusive, heart-warming concert. David, who has FILLED the 90,000-seat Wembley Stadium and sung to millions on The Glenn Beck Show, will be singing to a small, intimate crowd. Be there!
DAVID OSMOND has show business in his genealogy as part of the WORLD FAMOUS OSMOND FAMILY, and continuing in the family business was a natural progression. Being the 4th son of Alan and Suzanne Osmond, David grew up in the spotlight as his Father Alan was the oldest, and therefore the leader of the OSMONDS (Alan, Wayne, Merrill, Jay, Donny, Marie, and Jimmy).
David's career AND the challenges that he has faced closely resembles that of his famous father, uncles and aunt. On the professional side, he and his brothers were discovered by the late Bob Hope, and were featured on Bob Hope Television Specials. David and his Brothers were signed by Mike Curb, who signed the original Osmonds to their recording contract. The Osmonds 2nd Generation (as David and his Brothers were called) had four songs in the Top 40 in the U.K., and performed to sold-out stadiums and arenas in the U.S., Europe and Asia. Eventually, his uncles opened the Osmond Family Theater in Branson, Missouri, where David was a featured performer.
When Uncle Donny Osmond starred in Andrew Lloyd Weber's Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, the producers selected David to understudy for his uncle, and eventually David replaced Donny in the lead role as JOSEPH for many years.
Every family has challenges to overcome, and the Osmond Family is no exception. When David's father, Alan, was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis, it led to his early retirement from the performing Osmonds. Shockingly, David was forced to put his career on hold, due to his own diagnosis and physical battle with Multiple Sclerosis. David followed his father's own words of wisdom: "I may have MS, but MS does NOT have me," and has been able to become a symbol of hope to the MS Community. The Today Show did a feature on David, highlighting his inspiring story, as well as his influential music as a singer-songwriter. David was the 2010 recipient of the National MS Society's prestigious Spirit of Life Award, as well as their Ambassador of the Year Award, with which he was only the fifth person in the Society's 66 year history to receive this recognition. David continues to raise awareness for MS by speaking and performing nationwide with his music and positive message of overcoming adversity.
As David continues to successfully overcome the physical challenges of MS, his professional life and personal life have also flourished. David was chosen to host a BYU Produced Television competition Show, "STARBIZ," that benefited numerous Non-Profit Charities, and he was featured on FOX's hit TV show American Idol in 2009. On the acting front, he reprised the role of JOSEPH at the Pittsburgh Civic Light Opera, and also had the chance to recently perform alongside artists such as David Archuleta, Take 6, The Jonas Bros, Michelle Branch, Stevie Wonder and The Eagles. David was also voted the "2011 Artist of the Year" from Stereofame.com.
But David's GREATEST accomplishment is being a family man. He married the former Valerie McClain, and has two beautiful daughters, Saffron and Azalea.
David has had some incredible milestones in his career as an entertainer, from performing onstage at Wembley Arena to singing at Harpo Studios for Oprah. With the successes and challenges that he has faced, David begins each day with the determination and appreciation of his family legacy.
