Open Creation - A Community Retreat
Come for as long as you like - just a day, a few, or the whole time. Join us at the first Venture Open Creation community retreat to celebrate community-driven creativity & consciousness.
Take a break from the city, enjoy community, share your gifts, and connect with synergistic collaborators in an intimate retreat center setting surrounded by trees just an hour south of San Francisco.
This gathering will be an informal opportunity to rest, rejuvenate, and connect, featuring daily activities like yoga, arts, and music - all generously offered by attendees. This is an opportunity for you to share what you love doing with the community - things like piloting that workshop you have been wanting to give, sharing your new musical compositions, or leading a ritual.
Bring a project or endeavor you're incubating and see how it blooms when you work on it in nature surrounded by creative buzz and inspiration and like-minded potential collaborators. Or bring nothing and practice simply Being. Either way, the atmosphere will allow for a mix of socializing and solitude, rest and creativity.
How It Will Work:
This retreat will use minimal structure and rely on Open Space technology and the self-organizing intelligence of the collective.
After registration, you will receive a link to a Google spreadsheet where you can sign up to share your public offering/s (workshops, music, yoga, etc.) and also indicate if you're a healing arts practitioner with a 1:1 service you'd like to provide for either trade or cash. Trade is encouraged, but we are open to cash exchanges too.
The spreadsheet will have a general structure with morning slots for movement and meditation, afternoon slots for creative activities and workshops, and evening slots for music, dance, sound healing, ritual, etc. A few slots will be reserved for unknown emergent collaborative offerings that we expect to arise onsite, like jam sessions.
A list of healing services and their prices (or willingness to trade) will be compiled and posted onsite, so everyone knows who they can contact for massage, sound healing, EFT, art therapy, nutrition counseling, divination, etc. and what forms of exchange are appropriate.
Lodging: $38/night in shared bedrooms in the main lodge, or $20/night for camping.
Food: $12/day. Your $12/day will provide you with 3 meals per day. Bring your own snacks.
Cooking will be done by attendees. All attendees will be responsible for cooking at least one meal as part of a small team. This provides us all the opportunity to give back in a form of "seva" (selfless service) as well as the pleasure of not having to worry about cooking for ourselves for most of the retreat. There will be a kitchen manager work trader organizing the cooking.
Come for one or as many nights as you like, just reserve in advance.
Please register by July 3rd, 2013 to reserve your spot and ensure that you get to share something.
