Global Rhythms: Jewish in America
Celebrating the Jewish American experience through performance, Town Hall presents some of the major voices in contemporary Jewish song and music. Featured artists include The Zmiros Project, with Frank London and Lauren Sklamberg, co-founders of The Klezmatics (the premier Klezmer revival group in the United States), and virtuoso keyboard player and theremin master Rob Schwimmer. They are joined by Joshua Nelson, an African American Jew who brings his two traditions together by giving a gospel twist to traditional Jewish melodies, and a special collaboration of three outstanding local artists performing a suite of Sephardic songs; Marcos and Rubina Carmona (Carmona Flamenco) and Madeleine Sosin, the evocative singer and violinist of Correo Aereo.
