Burlesque 201 - Bethesda

Advanced course on the business side of burlesque and fine tuning your performances to rise above the rest. Including a photo shoot, video taping your routine, website development, social media, booking shows and learning how to complete a festival application in a way to make it stand out above the rest. During the six weeks each student will also have the chance to perform in the Graduation Glory Student Performance Showcase and at least one additional show. Each student will receive a 1 hour 1:1 with Miss Kitty, a Burlesque Salon, and rehearsal time.

The six week course has been broken into 2 parts for 2 reasons: 1) Miss Kitty's travel schedule and 2) to allow more preparation time for costuming, character development and storyline building. Only those who complete Part 1 & Part 2 will be asked to perform; however, Parts 1 & 2 do not need to be taken back to back. For instance, you can take Part 1 this semester and Part 2 next semester and be asked to perform. Part 1 must be completed before you can register for Part 2.

PREREQUISITE: successful completion of Burlesque 101 or approval from headmistress
