Thompson Street Opera Company presents:
BOBOK

This one-act opera is based on a short story by Dostoevsky, in English translation. Alternately dark and hilarious, it tells the story of Ivan, a failed writer, who drunkenly stumbles into a graveyard. Much to his surprise, he witnesses spirits of the dead conversing with, consoling, and antagonizing each other, even more intensely than when their bodies were still alive.
At 8:00 pm, the performance will begin with a Russian tea party in the adjoining reception rooms. You are cordially invited to eat authentic Russian pastries and hors d'oeuvres and sip tea with the cast and crew. When darkness has fallen, you will be ushered to your seats, and the performance will begin!
