Description
AJ Epstein Presents along with the Henry Art Gallery present Tim Crouch's ENGLAND, a story of one thing placed inside another: a heart inside another persons body, theatre inside a gallery, a character inside an actor, a play inside its audience. In Seattle as part of a North American tour, ENGLAND explores the boundaries between art and human beings. Performed by two guides within a museum exhibition, ENGLAND travels the trade routes of art and human beings. This tour to the end of the world continues Tim Crouch's fascination with the nature of the theatrical experience and the communication of an idea from performer to audience. ENGLAND is performed in thin air, within space, between people.

In his critically received works, Tim Crouch interrogates the role of the audience in the generation of theatre, theatre as a conceptual form, and the creative act of playwrighting. The BBC Radio 3 production of MY ARM won a coveted Prix Italia for Best Adaptation in the Radio Drama category. Crouch won best male actor for his performance in AN OAK TREE at the Brighton Festival in 2006, and the piece also received a prestigious Obie Special Citation following its New York run. ENGLAND enjoyed a sold-out run as part of the 2007 Edinburgh Fringe Festival, and has gone on to receive three major awards: a Fringe First, a Herald Archangel, and a Total Theatre Award.

Notes
