Kit and the Branded Men, the Palominos & the Desolators
KIT & the BRANDED MEN
DOORS: 9 PM / SHOW: 10 PM
KIT and the BRANDED MEN is a four piece band out of the San Francisco Bay Area. With influences such as Loretta Lynn, Patsy Cline & Rose Maddox... You might stumble upon a waltz, 2-step, bopper or old timey tear jerker. Darryl Pretto on telecaster provides the lead guitar twang, Ken Owen Drums and Glen Earl Brown Jr on bass walk out a solid rhythm section. Front and center, strumming her guitar and singing hits from the past and originals from today is the sweetheart of the bay area, Kit Lopez!
the PALOMINOS: This San Diego California based honky-tonk band plays classic west coast style country with vocal harmonies, steady backbeat and a persistently twanging lead guitar. Not contemporary in style, but certainly timeless in sound. Steeped in the classic honky-tonk of yesteryear, The Palominos bring to the stage and era that's long gone but far from forgotten. The San Diego band was formed in 2006 by brothers Thomas and James Zurek (on guitar and bass). Playing a mix of both obscure country classics and their own originals, The Palominos present their timeless, toe tapping sound to a modern-day crowd that is sure to bring 'em out onto the dance floor everywhere they play. Thomas played with the Grazers and the Barnyard Ballers, all the while working to master his twangin' telecaster that is from and center at every show.
James, besides picking on his guitar and banjo, spent years building up a sizable collection of vintage country records that provides the audio blueprint for the band. Lance Hawkins was born and raised in Southern California and has been singing country all his life. His lead vocals capture that classic honky-tonk sound and transports the listener back to a time when country music was both fun and heartfelt. Mike Marcott was born and raised in San Diego, playing drums in several bands throughout the years and his steady back beat help to keep the dance floor full. When the guitar starts to twang and the drums start their shuffle, you'll feel the pull of the dance floor. At a Palominos show, if you're not dancing, you're not living.
the DESOLATORS: From the backwoods of Virginia, to the dust of San Angelo, and all the way to the sands of San Diego comes the soundtrack to every open stretch of highway in between. Four firey-eyed, ornery lads brought together by pure fate and whiskey-soaked rock and roll- Jackalope Drew (percussion), Johnny Two-Holes (bass), Blackwood (TX guitar) and Hawkins (CA guitar)- have come together to pay homage to the outlaw greats and leave nothing behind but a cloud of smoke and dust on a stretch of asphalt near you. With their own brand of cookin' rhythms and lonesome leads that is sure to make all you sinners thirsty, one could only hope to get left behind should these boys blow through your town.
