Melinda DeBirk as you've never heard her sing before--right up close, with a small audience, in the exclusive setting of Azevedo Studios. Prepare to be delighted!
Melinda DeBirk's lovely, pure, angelic, one-of-a kind coloratura soprano voice is not to be missed! Melinda has a lot of really great music lined up and, at some point in her concert, she'll sing "My Soul Doth Magnify the Lord" from Lex de Azevedo's Gloria and invite those in the audience who know the choir music to join in, with Lex de at the piano.
Melinda is thrilled to be a part of this concert series! Originally from Orem, Utah, Melinda is a performer and director with extensive theatrical experience in professional, educational, and community settings. She has performed such roles as Cosette in Les Miserables, Cinderella in The Slipper and the Rose, Lily in The Secret Garden, Mary and Mary Magdalene in Savior of the World at the Conference Center Theater, and Emma Smith, Eliza R. Snow and Leonora Taylor in the Nauvoo Pageant in Nauvoo, Illinois.
She appeared in Lex de Azevedo's Gloria and Hosanna oratorios in the roles of Mary and Mary Magdalene, respectively, and performed in the General Relief Society session of the LDS Church's General Conference in 2006. She has also performed as a soloist in numerous concert productions throughout Utah, at venues that include the Capitol Building, Rose Wagner theater, the Tabernacle on Temple Square, Brigham Young Park, McKay Events Center, and the Marriott Center.
She holds a BA in Theater Arts from Brigham Young University, and toured Australia in 2008 with the BYU Young Ambassadors. She and her husband welcomed their first child into the world in March, and she is busy with her new role, Mom.
