Voelker Orth Museum's 10th Anniversary Luncheon
Come celebrate with good company and generous spirit!
Join us in supporting the Museum's 10th Anniversary Celebration at an afternoon of fine dining, music, exhibits and a bit of history at the Sheraton LaGuardia East in downtown Flushing.
The luncheon celebrates the people and accomplishments of the Museum's first ten years and welcomes its second decade. The Voelker Orth Museum opened to the public in June 2003 in a restored 1890s house with a Victorian-styled garden. Established through the vision and endowment of life-time resident, Elisabetha Orth, the Museum offers a variety of events year-round.
Whether you have been involved as a visitor, a volunteer, a guest artist, the staff, a member, or you are just making our acquaintance, the celebratory luncheon provides an opportunity to share stories, enjoy fine dining and music, and learn about what is on the horizon for the Voelker Orth Museum.
Cash bar is available. Valet parking is available for $10.
Tickets are $75. Tickets must be purchased by July 10th. A small processing fee is charged for on-line purchases. Proceeds from the event support the Voelker Orth Museum as it leaps into its second decade. Members may purchase $65 tickets by check sent to the Voelker Orth Museum.
About the Voelker Orth
The Voelker Orth Museum, Bird Sanctuary and Victorian Garden opened in Flushing in 2003 to preserve and interpret the cultural and horticultural heritage of the community in an 1890s landmarked setting that was home to three generations of a German immigrant family. It brings together the arts and culture, local history, and our horticultural heritage, in a manner accessible to a diverse community, offered with warm hospitality.
An exhibition looking at the transformation of the property and the neighborhood, From Immigrant Home to Neighborhood Museum, opens in August.
