RERA November 2018 Event - City of Santa Rosa Housing Production Initiatives
On the night of October 8th, 2017, Santa Rosa experienced one of the largest disasters in the Citys history. Loosing 3,000 residential units in one night changed our community in many ways, in addition adding to the extreme housing shortage that existed prior to the fires. Santa Rosa is at a critical juncture to identify creative and urgent ways to create housing for all income levels as fast as possible to get people back in their homes, retain our community, support the retention and expansion of our local businesses and to house all those in need of housing. Over the past year, the City of Santa Rosa has not just focused on rebuilding, it has made the determination that it will rebuild more resilient, create more density in our downtown, identify city wide policies to support new housing and has worked with the County to identify regional approaches to address the housing crisis.
Presentation will focus on:
*Rebuilding after the fire *City wide housing initiatives such as: Accessory Dwelling Unit policies, Density Bonus, Fee Studies *Downtown High-Density Development Efforts *Regional Housing Initiatives
