Kidney disease is the 8th leading cause of death in the United States, causing more deaths than breast cancer or prostate cancer each year. Thirteen people die each day while waiting for a kidney transplant. The good news is that early detection can make a major difference, and the NKFL is working to get that message out to individuals, health care professionals, and other supporters who need to hear it most. We also provide free, community based kidney screenings for those with risk factors for kidney disease, and emergency support for patients on dialysis.
