Grassroots Marketing: A Social Media Roadmap
Small organizations and nonprofits rarely, if ever, have a full-time social media manager, and the work often piles atop other overloaded plates. It can be frustrating and exhausting. However, you're resourceful and ready for pulling up those bootstraps.
Have you often wondered which sites should you be on, how much time should you spend on social media, how to track the effectiveness of your efforts, and how to make everything work together harmoniously?
In this interactive presentation, Christine Bateman will illustrate your view from the social media balcony. We'll spend time taking a closer look at the major sites, discussing quick tips and best practices, all while keeping individual strategy in mind.
This workshop will save you time by mapping the big picture, providing specific resources, and demonstrating action plans and evaluation strategies. Come armed with samples or specific challenges that your group, project or organization is facing. Round-tables, facilitated by Shunpike advisors, provide the forum to workshop your personal approach and connect with peers. Finish up by sharing the feedback and actions you will head home with.
Presenter Bio: Christine Bateman, Marketing & PR Director for Balagan Theatre, wrote her first musical number at age four, an ode to the Happy Meal entitled "Goodbye, McDonald-Land, Goodbye." (She's been an arts nerd ever since then.) With more than 15 years in nonprofit communications, an MFA in Arts Leadership from Seattle University, and an extroverted personality, Christine spends lots of time "talking" on her computer. (She's been a social media nerd since Facebook.) Previous employers and clients include The 5th Avenue Theatre, Steppenwolf Theatre, Seattle Repertory Jazz Orchestra and Mystic Seaport. Away from the theatre, Christine can be found cruising through the 'burbs in her swagger wagon with three fantastic kids, an energetic dog, a patient husband, and a venti latte.
