Educators Day Retreat in the tradition of Thich Nhat Hanh
Dear Friends,
It is with great pleasure that we are writing to let you know we will be holding a Day Retreat for educators at The American School in London, on Saturday, June 15th, from 8.30am to 4.30 pm. The school is close to St. John's Wood tube station on the Jubilee Line.
All teachers, educators and youth workers are warmly invited to come and join us on this special one day retreat. This includes: primary, secondary school teachers, college and university lecturers, special needs teachers / providers, teaching assistants, youth workers and others involved in education.
If you attended one of our earlier retreats for educators, this will be an ideal day to bring friends and colleagues who are involved in mindfulness in education or who would like to find out more about mindfulness for educators.

8.00-8.30 Arrival and registration
8.30- 9.15 Introductions and guided sitting meditation
9.30-10.15 Walking meditation
10.15-11.00 Excerpts from a talk by Thich Nhat Hanh
11.10-12.10 Sharing groups
12.15-1.15 Shared mindful lunch
1.15-1.50 Choice of total relaxation or sitting meditation
2.00 -2.45 Workshop sessions (primary schools, secondary schools, college and university, special needs schools)
3.00 3.45 Sharing about current Plum Village work on Applied Ethics and mindfulness in education. Proposals for building for sustainable communities for educators to support one another. Q&A
4.00 4.30 Tea and cakes, closing
What to bring
- cushion for mediation and a yoga mat, if you have them. We will have some spare mats available if you don't, and plenty of chairs for people who prefer to sit higher than a cushion.
- a vegetarian or vegan dish to share for lunch. This is pot-luck, so prepare as the spirit moves you.
Donations of £5 to £10 on the day will be happily received to cover essential costs.
We hope you can attend and bring colleagues and friends.
