2013 REC Basic Training 1: June 1 - August 24

The Gotham Girls Basic Training Level 1 is for anyone new to roller skating or roller derby. No previous skating skills are required, however you must be able to make it around the track without holding on to walls or people. Level 1 will teach you the fundamentals of skating to ensure that it is safe for you to start playing roller derby. Practices will cover basic skating skills, land drills for general fitness, and introductory roller derby skills. Women and Men are welcome to these non-contact practices. There is an assessment at the end of the 10-week program that will determine if you are ready to move on to Level 2.

The dates and times for this class are:
Saturday, June 1 - Saturday, August 24
**No practice 6/29, 7/6, 7/27**
Time: 9am - 11am

You must have your own skates, knee pads, elbow pads, wrist guards, helmet, and mouthguard. In addition, all participants will be required to provide proof of ONE of the following types of insurance:
-Primary health insurance
-WFTDA insurance
-USARS insurance

Please note that we reserve the right to cancel this class with one week of notice in the case of insufficient interest. In the event of cancellation, skaters will be issued a refund.
