War Torn Entertainment & Made In Glitch Presents:

The D-Town BeatDown

May 10th 2013

.: Bass Room:

- JANTSEN -

Boulder, Colorado's Jantsen has been pushing the envelope of the bass-centric
electronic music scene for several years. Jantsen draws inspiration from his
elevated surroundings, bringing together the influences of electronica, jazz,
blues, funk, rock, hip-hop, and every single sound in between. Like an alchemist
working his elixirs, Jantsen performs precise musical chemistry, creating new
bass-funk gold. His musical style looks to the horizon of the scene,
progressively pushing creative boundaries, expanding upon the typical to make
them abnormal. Truly, the best way to listen to Jantsen's music is to experience
it live--the energetic sound waves and contagious stage presence are what
make his show one of a kind. Jantsen's music has been on the decks of many
Djs, including: Rusko, Datsik, Downlink, and Trolly Snatcha. Connect with
Jantsen's Facebook page to be updated on the latest releases and free
downloads.

- FILIBUSTA -

Filibusta (Troy Probst) is an emerging artist from the tiny town of Fillmore, IL. When he grew bored of tipping cows and wrecking tractors, he taught himself to play guitar. Since then, his fingers have buzzed with life. He uses an MPD drum pad to trigger drum, bass, synth, and vocal samples live. Thus, Filibusta's work vibes as a real-life, in-your-face experience -- creative, original, and just for you.

Filibusta has been producing and mixing music since 2007, sharing the stage with The Glitch Mob, MartyParty, R/D, Spankalicious, Prophet Massive, Break Science, ill-esha, Signal Path, and Phaded in recent years. His remixes include tracks by The Glitch Mob, Skillrex, and Nit Grit just to name a few. In spring 2012, he placed a mighty 3rd in the Untz Challenge III. Filibusta's grand scheme in life is to restore the progressive and melodic elements of glitch and dubstep. With nearly 350,000 plays on Souncloud, Filibusta is an artist you'll want to keep your ears open to!

- ATAXIA -
(Paxahau)

Ataxia is a Detroit born and based dance music duo poised to leave their thumbprint on the world with a powerful brand of house and techno. Its members, Ted Krisko and Eric Hanna, have been in relentless pursuit of living and breathing the music and life they love.

Recently signed to Culprit Records, the Detroit boys will see their debut EP released with the US imprint in May. The record features appearances by their friends Clarian from Footprintz, as well as Mobilee darling Cari Golden. The EP is laced with dreamy psychedelic house, incorporating lush harmonies and overtones throughout. To round things out, the remix package will feature some of the most sought after artists in dance music today.

Ataxia's energetic live performances have taken them in front of audiences at Movement Electronic Music Festival (2011), Electric Forest/Rothbury (2012), The BPM Festival (2013), Winter Music Conference (2010, 2011, 2012) as well as consistently DJing at their residency and home, TV Lounge in Detroit. The pair also frequently performs at the classic city hotspot, The Old Miami.

Now signed with Air London for worldwide bookings, 2013 will prove to be Ataxia's busiest year yet. Catch them live to experience why URB Magazine said Ataxia is "leading yet another generation of electronic music innovators to come out of the Motor City".

- GUSTO -
(Nightsneak)

Augustus Williams, aka DJ Gusto, may not have had the most ideal childhood, but his story is a positive one with a promising future. Gusto has memories of his father listening to Marvin Gaye and old Motown records, but the music that spoke to him first was Hip Hop. By Junior High Gusto was spending much of his time listening to the radio, and taping shows of WJLB, this is where he first learned of artists like DJ Godfather, and DJ Assault. When he attended his first party in 1996 he did not yet know what Techno was, but validates that this was the event that would evidently shape the rest of his life.

From that point on Gusto's interest in music grew into a passion, and that passion drove him to become a part of the music. He began DJing, focusing on electronic music evolving from his first love of Hip Hop, Electro, and Drum N' Bass. At the age of 19 Gusto learned about "The Belleville Three" and found him self completely drawn to Techno. He started to play frequently at house parties, and at one of these parties he met a fellow DJ, Jesse James, and the two of them soon became close friends. This meeting and newly established friendship would provide Gusto with an opportunity to shine in his future, Jesse James and cousin James Woods would later become responsible for the "Nightsneak" parties, and Gusto soon became a local favorite.

Since then he has had the opportunity to perform alongside artists such as; James Pennington, Mike Dearborn, Terrence Parker, Green Velvet, Frankie Bones and DJ Assault. After years of spinning records Gusto began to direct his energy through drum machines and sequencers, often combining those efforts for a no less than impressive show. Playing mostly live shows for the better part of the last 7 years, people often forget he started out as a DJ. In the studio his tracks are made with the DJ and the dance floor in mind, and he spends much of his time developing his own style. Years of determination posed yet another opportunity for him when Twonz the owner of Hijacked Records asked him to join the family. The rest is not history, but the future.

- Dantiez Saunderson -
(KMS, Club House Music)

As one of three children, Dantiez Saunderson, was born and bred in Michigan and is the middle son of Recording Artist (and techno pioneer) Kevin Saunderson and Singer/Songwriter Ann Saunderson. So you would imagine that it was a 'given' that Dantiez was automatically going to establish a career for himself in the music industry. However, you would be sadly mistaken.
It wasn't to be until 2012, at the age of 20 that Dantiez decided to take a plunder into the music industry. He realised that music was the way to go for him, when he saw the change in electronic music and how his generation (as a whole) were starting to interact with the music, so much more.
Not only has he immersed himself into producing music, but he has stepped into the world of djing. Although his inspiration to dj was by watching the likes of the three 'Originators of Techno' (namely Derrick May, Juan Atkins and of course his own Dad, Kevin Saunderson), he has also been influenced by DJs such as Marco Carolo (from Italy) and Seth Troxler, (Seth is one of the new generation of DJs, currently riding high and co-incidentally, he's also from Michigan).
His productions, reflects all sides of his personality (depending on his mood and the time of day) and for anyone who knows Dantiez, that would certainly be a true assessment. His influences are definitely infused with Detroit, although his productions are energetic. He's found a nice balance between underground, fused with a pop vibe, mixed with a touch of tech house and techno. "No doubt my father was a huge influence. Watching him in the studio, when I was growing up, was amazing and obviously my mother has been a big influence also. I listened to "Spastik" by Plastikman (aka Richie Hawtin) and I still really love that track. I'm also into Dubfire (formerly one half of Deep Dish) and Oliver Hunttington. However, my early influences would most definitely be Hip Hop, so artists such as Eminem ("Cleaning Out My Closet" was a favourite track), Timberland and his productions; for instance "Lose Control" by Missy Elliott and Justin Timberlake's "Cry Me a River" and the list goes on..."
"Undergo" will be Dantiez's debut release (co written and co produced by Kevin Castro). It will be released on First Step Records, a UK label (and a subsidiary of Endemic Digital), in May 2013.
This young man knows where he's going and as he says "music is my life (just as it is with my Mother and Father), so the sky's the limit... Ultimately, I wish to travel the world and share my music and good vibes with others. Just being able to do that is rewarding enough".
