Description
Birth is a play based on over one hundred interviews Karen Brody conducted with mothers across America who gave birth between 2000-2004. It tells the true stories of 8 women painting a portrait of how low-risk, educated women are giving birth in America today.

Moving between first-person monologues, some dialogue, and the voices these women heard on the day they gave birth, Birth confronts, what City Lights Theater Company has called, "The naked truth about childbirth in America."

After each performance of Birth there will be a BOLD Talkback, giving audience members the opportunity to discuss the play, their reactions, and their feelings about birth with local panelists from the community.

Proceeds from the play will benefit BOLD and BirthNetwork of Northwest Arkansas.

Notes
Enjoy wine, soft drinks, light hors doeuvres, or a slice of Scarpinos signature gelato cake available for purchase from the cash bar.  Enjoy a relaxing environment on the outdoor piazza (patio) or in the Teatro, which was crafted by local artisans and features an elegant, classical architectural style and works by local artists.  This is a great opportunity for expectant parents and birth professionals to network with other local birth professionals and advocates.
