.

This year marks the 30th anniversary of The Hey Baby Band. The concept was brought to the stage by Jimmy Ekizian, Hey Baby's remarkable lead singer and trumpet player. Uninspired by the MTV revolution of the '80s, Jimmy launched a band capable of recapturing the magic of the music from the '60s and '70s. R&B, Soul, Funk, Blues and Rock 'n' Roll make up the foundation that keeps the magic alive. "Hey Baby" recreates the music of Otis Redding, James Brown, Wilson Pickett, Van Morrison, Chicago, Sly & The Family Stone, The Beatles, The Doors, Joe Cocker, Santana, The Allman Brothers, War, Elvis Costello and many others -- with a signature sound all their own. Infectious rhythms and dynamic horns keep the crowds dancing to the very last note.

DON LOWE:

Originally from McHenry, North Dakota (pop. 47), Don Lowe explores life as he sees it with songs that are at turns witty, arcane, profane, sad and, sometimes, downright silly. After 15 years in New York City and Los Angeles as an actor, Don moved to Connecticut where he enjoys a freelance writing career and teaches college writing. He's opened for Kenny White, Toby Walker, Danielle Miraglia, David Jacobs-Strain, Johnny A, The Dana Fuchs Band, and Maria Sebastion, among others, and has been featured in venues throughout Connecticut, New York, Massachusetts, Minnesota and North Dakota. Don also is an open mic host here at the Towne Crier.
