| Description |
Gary Stroutsos, a Seattle resident and a World Music sound traveler whose passion and great respect for Cuban, Asian, American Native, and Jazz flute styles underlie his own unique musical expression, presents his concert "Winds of Honor" on August 2nd, 2008. Gary has recorded and produced over 20 world music albums, and is respected world-wide as a leader in New Age flute, having even been invited to play in the White House for President Bill Clinton.
Spending time with the Hunkpapa Lakota Sitting Bull people from the Standing Rock Sioux reservation inspired his benchmark contemporary American Indian recording for Makoche Records, Winds of Honor.
"Making Winds of Honor gave me a glimpse into the world of the American Indian through music," recalls Gary, "This is a time that will never leave my heart."
All proceeds from this concert will go towards the production of Flute Quest 2008 by the Washington Flute Circle. http://www.flutequest.com
