Song of Eddie King
This Two-Act play by JAMESAI SCHEMPP will be presented as a Fund-Raiser by FRIENDS ALWAYS CREATING THEATRE and given a 60 minute Staged Reading, a Talk Back with the author and WINE prior to a full-scale Production in the Fall 2013. The ancient Greeks didn't call it a play; they called it a "Tra" or "Song." This is the Song of Eddie King, a carnival worker in the American South. It is a story of pride and humanity, a play of emotions, passions and dilemmas. It is the retelling of an ancient story based on Oedipus Rex by Sophocles, placed in a modern setting which shows that the old tragedies can still be meaningful today. Directed by RODRIGO BOLANOS Produced by FRIENDS ALWAYS CREATING THEATRE Jack Dyville, Producer/Artistic Director David Gillam Fuller, Co-Producer Andrew Dorph, Managing Director
