Second Annual Blondes vs Brunettes Flag Football Fundraiser 2013
Welcome to Alzheimer's Association's Blondes vs. Brunettes 2nd Annual flag football game, where two teams of women - divided to reflect the age-old rivalry between blondes and brunettes - compete to help raise awareness and funds in the fight against Alzheimer's disease.
Our passion and hard work will take us from practice to the playing field, but our success will rely upon the support of our friends and families and upon all of those willing to donate to this important cause. Together, we can tackle Alzheimer's!
The 2013 game will take place on the football field at Fairfax High School in Los Angeles with doors opening at 1pm and kickoff at 2pm. Festivities will include exciting raffle prizes, halftime entertainment, concessions, and much, much more! Parking is free.
The event is being organized by the Alzheimer's Association Young Professionals Committee. Register at http://act.alz.org/la or contact Robin Andrews at 323-930-6282 and randrews@alz.org
****** Blondes vs. Brunettes was created in the fall of 2005 by a group of young professional women in Washington, D.C., led by Sara Abbott. Her sister, Kate Stukenberg, soon grew the game to Texas. The founders had a personal connection to Alzheimer's disease and designed the event to raise awareness among their peers while also raising funds for the Alzheimer's Association. Since that inaugural game in Washington D.C., the event has successfully branched out to more than 20 additional cities, raising more than $2 million and bringing thousands of new supporters to the cause. Blondes vs. Brunettes is a volunteer-driven active event for women that that brings the passion and spirit of young community leaders together to support the Alzheimer's Association. The event concept is organized around a flag football game in which the two participating teams are divided based on the age-old rivalry between blondes and brunettes.
