Haight Ashbury Love Music
A few years ago we went down to the north west of England to play a few gigs around Liverpool, Manchester, Chester and North Wales. The promoter of those gigs a certain Mr. Chris Ingram and his lovely wife Blaise treated us like long-lost friends, nay brothers, and we soon became good friends and regular musical collaborators. At the time Chris and Blaise weren't really playing music but over the years we have had the privilege of watching them develop into bewitching performers and arresting songwriters. The culmination of this came recently when their absolutely amazing band The Glendale Family released their debut single 'Fitzcarraldo' and there was no way we could let that pass without hosting them for an Edinburgh launch night.
So here it is....
We've pulled together what we hope you agree is a rather mouth-watering lineup:
Opening the night will be 9-piece tango band THE APPASSIONADOS. We had them play at HALM previously in the City Cafe and were left speechless at the beauty and power of their music. This time round they will be bringing a singer and some bona fide tango dancers to ensure the night kicks off with a BANG! ARRIVE EARLY TO AVOID DISAPPOINTMENT!!!!!
To try to top that we've tempted Edinburgh's finest country troubadour MR. AL SHIELDS out of retirement for a special one-off performance of his perfectly crafted americana gems, especially for you! He's even threatening to get his band 'The Wilted Roses' in on the act (but don't tell him I told you that).
Our good selves MIYAGI are very excited to be returning to the glamorous surroundings of the Voodoo Rooms and are hoping to have to have some rather exciting Miyagi news to celebrate (more to follow closer to the time :)
Headlining the night will be said GLENDALE FAMILY bringing an uplifting combination of raucous folk, beautiful melody, epic storytelling, 4 part harmony and pumping bass lines to warm your heart and fidget your feet.
