Walk A Mile in Her Shoes - Morgantown
April is nationally recognized as Sexual Assault Awareness Month. Each year an estimated 302,091 women and 92,748 men are forcibly raped in the United States.
In order to take action in our local community, the Rape and Domestic Violence Information Centerserving Monongalia, Preston, and Taylor Countieshas organized a Walk a Mile in Her Shoes Awareness Walk; an international men's march to stop rape, sexual assault, and gender-based violence (www.walkamileinhershoes.org).
Each participant is asked to walk a mile in women's high heeled shoes to raise awareness, foster education, and take a stand together towards ending sexual violence in our local communities and around the world.
$10 registration fee per walker
Free t-shirt to first 50 registered!
Ask family, friends, and co-workers to pledge money to
see you walk in high heels.
Raise enough money to cover entry fee and shoes and the challenge a friend or coworker to walk.
Form groups and walk together.
Prizes will be awarded to the top pledge fundraiser, the most creative shoes and the best poster!
